Stuffed Potato Tikki

Ingredients:
1. Potatoes…………………………….. 2 cups, boiled & mashed
2. Green peas…………………………..1/2 cup, boiled & crushed
3. Corn flour…………………………….1/4 cup
4. Grated ginger……………………….1 tsp
5. Green Chilly…………………………1tsp chopped
6. Dry mango powder……………….1 tsp
7. Garam masala………………………1/2 tsp
8. Cumin seeds………………………….1tsp
9. Oil………………………………………..for shallow frying
10. Salt ……………………………………….to taste
11. Turmeric powder…………………..1/4 tsp
12. Asafoetida……………………………..1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. To it add 1 tsp cumin seeds, grated ginger, green chilly and asafoetida. Mix well and sauté for a minute.
2. Add boiled and crushed peas and mix well.
3. Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, dry mango powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for one minute.
4. Transfer into a bowl and set aside to cool.
5. In mashed potatoes add salt and corn flour and mix well.
6. Take about 2 tbsp of potato mash in the hand, make into a round ball and stuff with a spoonful of peas mixture.
7. Shape them into tikkies.
8. Roll tikkies with the corn flour and dust off the excess corn flour.
9. Heat a non stick tawa; pour some oil and shallow fry tikkies on high heat until golden brown from both the sides.
Serve hot with chutney of your choice
